Due to overwhelming public demand, THE CHARLATANS have announced two further ‘Some Friendly’ dates for May 2010.
Having sold out their London Roundhouse show in under two hours last month, the band have confirmed two more retrospective shows at Glasgow’s Barrowland on May 14th and Blackpool’s Empress Ballroom on May 15th.

In an interview shortly after the release of the hugely successful second Gorillaz album ‘Demon Days’, founder and chief musical contributor Damon Albarn proclaimed: “It’s quite a hip-hop thing to do, isn’t it? To retire and come back.”
He was, of course, suggesting that Gorillaz may return at some unknown point in the future, but also that the cartoon group were to disband for some time. Following the reception of ‘Demon Days’, both critically and commercially, there seemed little point for them to continue.
With Gorillaz, Albarn and co-founder Jamie Hewlett had previously stated that they wanted to create something that could work in the mainstream, but would give them the freedom to be experimental. It seemed that they had done what they had apparently set out to achieve.

Seminal punk icons Sylvain Sylvain (New York Dolls) and Cheetah Chrome (Rocket From The Tombs/Dead Boys) have announced their new band "Batusis" will release a 4-track EP and embark on a nationwide UK Tour in May 2010.
Following their March 18th concert debut at the prestigious SXSW festival, Batusis, whose name is derived from when Adam West danced a version of the watusi on the popular Batman TV series, will release their self-titled debut EP on collectable 7” inch multi-colored vinyl and digital download on May 4th. The EP also features Enzo Penizzotto (bass) and Thommy Price (drums) of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

Live Nation, the entertainment giant that recently merged with Ticketmaster, today announced the launch of its concert promotion division in Germany, the fourth largest music market in the world.
Established German promoter Johannes Wessels has been appointed Managing Director of Live Nation Germany, and will operate from his current Hamburg base. Live Nation’s first German shows will be three Lady Gaga dates in Berlin, Hamburg and Oberhausen which go on sale on 12th March.

JLS, the most successful new group of 2009, end their incredible year by announcing their first UK Arena tour for December 2010. Due to phenomenal demand JLS have added six dates to their arena tour. With 4 shows in London already in their diary, JLS have added another to their winter tour. They will headline London’s O2 for the third time on Saturday January 15th January 2011. Plus they have added more shows in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Cardiff, Birmingham and Newcastle.

Out of the hundreds upon hundreds of acts performing this year, 18 year old Polly Mackey and her band the Pleasure Principle have been personally invited to deliver the first official music performance of the SXSW 2010 Music Festival at the Delegate Welcome Dinner at The Four Seasons Hotel on Wednesday 17th March.
The Liverpool & North Wales based band is making their second appearance at SXSW after a blistering 9-performance debut at last year’s festival which earned them rave reviews on both sides of the Atlantic.
